Pajama Party!

Happy First Day of Winter, Everyone!
Ooooh, this time of year makes me SO excited to get cozy!  I love nothing more than pulling out my wintertime PJ's on a cold night.  Check out this stylish sleepwear and get ready to snuggle up.  In the meantime, I hope everyone is having a glamorous holiday season, and I'll see you after Christmas xo!!!

LOVE these PJ's - especially the sweet button detailing on the sleeves - and there are so many more adorable options to choose from.  The pink polka dot ones are my favorite...they remind me of a modern-day version of something my idol would wear!

Thermal PJ's are great because the cuffed detailing on the sleeves and pants helps to keep you SUPER warm.  I love this set...it reminds me of a Christmas candy cane!

OMG - I am obsessed with these!  From the pretty pale blue color to the pink lining inside the sleeves and pant cuffs to the gorgeous snowflakes to the pink deer - these are just the sweetest pair of holiday PJ's!

Obsessed!

Some of my current obsessions...

Real Simple Slimline Hangers with Built-in Hooks

MY CLOSET AFTER

MY CLOSET BEFORE
I MUST give a shout-out to my sister, Ali (you can read about a fabulous decorating tip from her here) for introducing me to these AMAZING hangers!  I recently replaced all of my old hangers with these, and the difference is gawjus!  My closet is so much tidier, and since all of the hangers match, it makes me feel like I have my own little boutique!  Even though the natural wood skirt hangers have the word 'skirt' in the name, they're PERFECT for your jeans, hanging them in such a way that you'll be able to easily differentiate between each pair (which can be difficult sometimes).  And the Real Simple slimline hangers - OMG - HEAVEN!  Between the slim design that maximizes closet space, accessory bar for a belt or scarf, indents for straps, slide-proof material that prevents slipping, and special shape that eliminates hanger dents in the shoulder - these babies are a DREAM come true!

*Sigh*  You may recall my post about Wet N' Wild's Mega Last Lip Color in Think Pink - a bubblegum pink lip color that, when paired with a smokey eye, will achieve a very 50's-inspired, Brigette Bardot look. Well, if you feel like splurging on a swankier version (it IS the holidays, and you DO deserve a prezzie for yourself, after all ;), I HIGHLY recommend this chic and glamorous shade by Tom Ford!  It's super creamy, glides on ULTRA smooth, and leaves lips the perfect shade of light, light pink - just BEGGING for a smokey eye to go along with it.  This just may be my favorite lip color of ALL TIME!

Tom Ford's Lip Color in Nude Vanille gets a rating of 5 out of 5 lipsticks:

Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works
OMG, the Vanilla Bean Noel line from Bath & Body Works is one of my favorite parts about the holidays!!!  I wear it ALL winter long, and am always getting compliments on how yummy I smell!  It just smells WARM - like vanilla and cookies and coziness.  I have it in a lotion (both big and small so I can put the small one in my purse) and a body spray, which I spritz on after the shower.  Click here to view ALL of the Vanilla Bean Noel products.  One whiff and you'll be hooked, I swear!

Glamour Friday: Funny Betsy!

Betsy
Welcome to Glamour Friday, everyone!  Today, I'm THRILLED to introduce you to one of the sweetest, most HILARIOUS peeps I know: my friend and former improv teacher, Betsy Stover!!!

OOOOMG, Betsy is just the coolest!  I met her as a student in her improv class at Upright Citizens Brigade in the ol' NYC.  For those of you who aren't familiar with improv, it's comedy without a script.  It's fun to do, and BEYOND fun to watch!
Amy!

Improv is great for so many reasons. It helps actors flex their comedy skills, and for anyone else, it's a great way to break out of your shell, meet people, and spend a few hours a week just having FUN!  Upright Citizens Brigade is an amazing place to do it.  Founded by four friends (including a LEETLE-known actress named Amy Poehler), UCB is the only accredited comedy school in the country - meaning college students can actually get credit for attending.  THAT'S how serious this comedy stuff is, folks!  ;)

     HEY, BETSY...
What does glamour mean to you?
Feeling good about yourself.  I have to say that glamour's a bit foreign to me now, being that I'm a mom and I have another baby on the way.  Even if I have makeup and a dress on, I always feel like there's a bit of a frazzled element to me!
What's your favorite thing about improv?
You can be anyone or do anything.  It's limitless.  I mean, I can be a tightrope walker or a 400-pound Russian mobster.  There are no boundaries to who you can be, what you can do...I find that exhilarating.
What's your favorite thing about being a mom?
Every family obviously has all of their own dysfunctions,
and I love that you can try your best to correct them when you're creating a brand new family.  You can break the cycle, and try to get better with every generation.

The best part about my experience at UCB was having Betsy as my teacher!  Having a great teacher makes a BIG difference since improv can be a little intimidating at first.  So if you're interested in trying it out, make sure your teacher's been recommended to you.  My favorite thing about Betsy is how comfy she made everyone feel.  She created a safe environment, where everyone flourished!

It's SUPER easy to find an improv class near you.  Visit Google, and you'll see lots of options pop up wherever you are.  And, if you're looking for something a LEETLE different to do with your friends one night, there's NOTHING like seeing an improv show!  WOW - seeing experienced peeps perform this stuff will give you MAJOR belly laughs!  It's such a fun night out!

Betsy & Ari!
Obviously, Betsy has RIDICULOUS inner glamour!  When I asked what her favorite thing is about being a mom, I was BLOWN AWAY by her beautiful answer.  I'm so inspired by how she manages to be BEYOND hilarious, and also really down-to-earth and super sweet.  She and her hubby, Ari (also an improv teacher), will be hosting a show with some other UCB teachers in the new year, so visit www.ucbtheatre.com to learn more about it, or about any classes or shows happening at UCB.

Have a glamorous weekend xo!

Greeting Cards With A Message!

I wanted to introduce everyone to two of my new favorite peeps: Cellphone & Texter!  After discovering the adorable greeting cards on which they're featured, I decided I loved them.  After discovering the message BEHIND the cards, I decided I REALLY loved them!

Created by BonnieRoberts Cards, Cellphone & Texter are two charming little characters whose goal is to spread the prevention of texting and driving in a lighthearted, easy way.

Check out the statistics below, and you'll see why this message is so important:

  • 5 seconds is the average time your eyes are off the road while texting.  When traveling at 55mph, that's enough time to cover the length of a football field.
  • Talking on a cell phone while driving can make a younger driver's reaction time as slow as that of a 70-year-old.
  • Of all cell phone-related tasks - including talking, dialing, or reaching for the phone - texting while driving is the most dangerous.
  • About 13% of adult drivers have surfed the Internet while driving.
And yet...
  • 60% of drivers still use cell phones while driving.
Crazy, right?!  Well, what I love about Cellphone & Texter is that they're able to spread their message in an effective and FUN way!  On the back of each card is a reminder not to text and drive.  The fun part is that you can customize your cards (without autocorrect turning your message into something naughty!!!), and write your own little message!

Cellphone & Texter also make appearances on birthday and holiday cards, where well-wishes are written in both English and text lingo.  THE CUTEST!!!  I am just SUCH a fan of these cards, and I think it takes some real smarts and creativity to talk about something kinda scary in a non-scary way.  Click here or on the pic on the right side of the page to buy or learn more about Cellphone & Texter.  I just got their sweet little holiday cards...LOVE!!!

Happy Holidays, stay glamorous, and don't text and drive!

10 Holiday-Themed Romantic Comedies To Watch!

Nothing gets me in the mood for holiday time like watching a good, fun, Christmas-themed romantic comedy!  Lately, I've been watching some of my favorites and I am totally feelin' the holiday spirit.  I thought I'd share ten of my holiday faves with you, so get ready to slip into something cozy, snuggle up under a blanket, and set up camp on the couch for a night of love, laughter, tears, and ALWAYS a happy ending!

John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale star in this romantic comedy that's all about fate.  Jeremy Piven (pre-Ari Gold days) and John Corbett (HILARIOUS here) also star.  Taking place all around NYC at holiday time, this movie is guaranteed to get you in the mood for Christmas, with appearances by Bloomingdale's, Central Park's famed Wollman Ice Skating Rink, Serendipity 3 (home of the original Frozen Hot Chocolate and SUCH a fun place to go during the holidays), and lots of other winter-y eye candy!  Click here for a preview.

While You Were Sleeping
LOVE this movie about lonely transit worker Lucy (Sandra Bullock) who, through a series of events, ends up pretending to be engaged to a VERY handsome man in a coma (Peter Gallagher, aka Sandy Cohen from The OC).  After being taken in by the man's relatives during holiday time, Lucy finally feels like she has a family of her own as she starts to become close to this tight-knit group - ESPECIALLY one cutie pie in particular (played by Bill Pullman)!  This movie just OOZES warmth and coziness.  LOVE!  Click here for a preview.

Love Actually
OBVIOUSLY!!!  Ya just can't have a holiday movie list without this instant classic on there! Set during Christmastime, this movie follows the lives of a variety of Londoners  (Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, and Keira Knightley - to name a few) who are each experiencing their own love story.  Some of the stories intertwine, and ALL of them will bring a LEETLE tear to your eye!  Click here for a preview.

When Harry Met Sally...
I mean...!!  Friendship, laughter, love, longing for a special someone during the holidays and suddenly realizing they're right under your nose, Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, I'll have what she's having...enough said!  Click here for a preview.

I mean, anything starring Vince Vaughn is bound to be hilarious!  He and Reese Witherspoon star as a couple trying to visit all of their parents (all of whom are divorced) on Christmas.  Vince and Reese have awesome chemistry, and their performance in the nativity scene at church is one of my favorite Vince Vaughn moments of all time!!!  Click here for a preview.

Nicholas Cage and Tea Leoni star in this "What If?" tale.  Womanizing investment broker Jack (Nicholas Cage) goes to sleep one night, only to wake up the next morning in a house in New Jersey next to his college girlfriend (Tea Leoni), who is now suddenly his wife and mother to his children.  Hilarious and heartwarming, this fantasy film that takes place during the holidays will have you laughing and crying all at once!  Click here for a preview.

*Sigh*  ANYTHING starring Ryan Reynolds is ok in my book!  My sweet little Ry Ry stars as a formerly hefty guy whose shed the extra ellbees and is now home for Christmas.  While visiting his hometown, he runs into Jamie (Amy Smart), his former best friend/unrequited love from high school, and romantic comedy ensues.  SWOON.  Click here for a preview.

Dontcha just love Bridge?!  See Renee Zellweger in one of her most beloved roles, Hugh Grant in a rare turn as the 'villain,' and Colin Firth in the role that made us all fall in love with him just a little bit! (I mean...the Christmas reindeer sweater?!  Adorable!)  Click here for a preview.

Whatta cast!  Starring Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, and Kate Winslet, this movie is about two fed-up women who agree to swap homes in each other countries during the holiday season.  During the swap, each one meets a native cutie pie...adorable!  Click here for a preview.

Edward Scissorhands
This is by far my favorite fantasy movie of all time!  It begins with a woman telling her granddaughter where snow comes from by telling her the story of Edward Scissorhands.  Johnny Depp stars as the gentle Edward, an unfinished creation who has scissors for hands.  Taken in by a suburban family, Edward falls in love with their daughter, Kim (Winona Ryder).  Directed by Tim Burton, this movie is gorgeous to look at; from the breathtaking winter-y scenes to the more-perfect-than-Wisteria-Lane backdrop, it is a feast for the eyes!  Click here for a preview.
